Welcome to the Fleet Air Arm Squadron

Who are we?

The Fleet Air Arm Squadron is a non military voluntary organisation aiming to link former, current and future naval aviators. It was founded in 1996 for the purpose of promoting naval aviation amongst current and ex-military aircrew. Its membership mainly comprises ex-military aviators who have an interest in and support the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. Membership is provided for those who still enjoy flying, albeit in a non-military capacity.

What do we do?

The Squadron runs a programme of aviation related events each year. These include fly ins and other activities of interest to which members, their partners and friends can attend by air or road. The Sqn supports potential recruits to naval aviation through sponsorship of service gliding courses as well as fundraising for appropriate organisations and charities. It also maintains close links with the Fleet Air Arm Officers Association, Navy Wings, and the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

Who can join?

Membership of the Fleet Air Arm Squadron is open to all those with an interest in naval aviation. The majority will be retired service personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force, but non-military members are also welcome, within a ratio that does not exceed 50% of the overall membership. Wives, husbands and partners are automatically included as associate members, and friends/family are welcome at all events.
